Fun Fact: Since we're on Samus, let's talk about how I pick out songs to use for mashups, because people ask me that a lot. It's....not concrete. The most common method I use is trying to match the song first. Because a song can be a playful reference to a character or to a slick meme about them, but if it doesn't match the song, then what's the point. I usually try to do so by seeing if the tone matches in some way or if the melodic rhythms match up to one another (the best example that comes to mind of melodic rhythms is later in the album with Separate Ways and the Mystic Quest Battle Theme).

I usually try to match it with the character as well, but I try not to sacrifice how the song sounds as a whole just for a character reference. A lot of the time I get lucky and a song works in both ways, like Toxic did with Brinstar. Britney matches the vibe with Samus, Brinstar is literally Toxic, and the "too hot can't come down" verse matches perfectly.
